Fender American Performer Stratocaster

American performer series appears to be the latest iteration of Fender’s classic design. This guitar is made in Corona, California and it’s a United States made guitar. But it doesn’t come with what you’d expect a USA made guitar priced to come in at that magical under fourth-biggest price point, which is very cool indeed.

Appearance

It’s a really well made guitar. It comes with a deluxe gig bag. When you take the guitar out of a gig bag you’ll find you’ve got your classic styling. Obviously all the contours are here – nothing’s changed there. But what “Fender” really has done is an upgrade for some features on the Fender American Performer Stratocaster to make it better for the modern guitar player.

What the owner got is this beautiful arctic white body with a black scratch plate slightly mirrored. All the controllers on the front side look very nice –  there’s nothing crazy going on the switching. In the Fender American Performer Stratocaster we’ve got a standard five way switch with no pushes, no pulls and nothing boosting. It is very simple to configure indeed.

Controls and sound

In terms of the pickups we’ve got the new “Yosemite” pickups from “Fender”. They are designed to give you a more modern sound. They are still extremely single coil like. But they have got a very kind of “natural versatile”, kind of profile with a slightly higher output and you will find on some vintage struts which is very cool. They sound great!

In terms of controls, there are a volume and two tone controls. The tone control feature is “Fender’s” new grease bucket technology or wiring and that enables you to roll down the high end from the guitar without losing any gain from your gain structure. It is possible because you can retain a gain structure of your tone. Then there is a six synchronized screw bridge on the soundboard and a standard front mounted jack stock on the front panel. Then there is a maple neck finished in satin. It is a polyurethane satin. It’s hard to wear but it’s very smooth indeed.

Speaking about the neck Fender American Performer Stratocaster has got a rosewood neck with a 9.5 inch radius. It is flatter than you’ll find with a very vintage Stratocaster and that kind of middle ground between “vintage” and “modern”. Such a neck is great for cords down here. You can bend to your heart’s content; you’re not going to run into any issues at all.  It is so because we’ve got quite tall wide frets on Fender American Performer Stratocaster.

As well there are white dot inlays on the front and on the top.  Fender American Performer Stratocaster equipped with really nice 18 to 1 ratio tuners which is an upgrade from what you’ll find on more vintage style Stratocasters. They have got the top hole in the top of the chain pegs where you poke the string in. Such a solution will provide you with a good tuning stability. got a couple of string trees

On the back side you can see a lettering “”Сorona made in the USA, California”. In Fender American Performer Stratocaster we’ve got an oversized late sixties or early seventies style headstock. It’s very comfortable when playing.
