The DD-200 Digital Delay is a smaller version of the flagship DD-500, combining sounds and features from the flagship. Twelve distinct delay modes ranging from current digital to vintage analog allow you to dial up everything from basic echoes to complex ambient pads and more. A looping feature is always accessible, as well as a timed carryover function for seamless transition between memories.
User memory expansion is included in version 1.1 update.
The BOSS 200 series gets more memory space for storing and retrieving sounds with the free Version 1.1 software update, which offers more options. There are 128 user configurations available right now. MIDI program change may also be used to recall setups.

DD-200 – Twelve Modes, Unlimited Sounds
The DD-200 offers practically any flavor of delay in a incredibly compact package, with 12 distinct modes to pick from. With the Roland RE-201 Space Echo and Binson Echorec 2, you have super-cleaned digital delays, gritty analog echoes, and dead-on vintage tones at your disposal. With layered delays, you may also generate reverse effects, lo-fi tones, and pulsing rhythmic sounds. Immersive ambient hues are just a knob twist away with the Tera Echo, Shimmer, and Pad Echo settings.
The DD-200 offers 128 different configurations to choose from, including 127 user memories and a real-time panel adjustment. A footswitch can be used to scroll access from any range of consecutive memories and the panel setting. You can also restrict the scrolling range, which will greatly speed up recall, or you may just assign memories. setups may be quickly recalled using external MIDI device program change messages if you want more control. Delay repeats will keep playing as you transition between memories, thanks to the carryover function, which allows you to delay repeats.
Pushing the DD-200’s two footswitches together puts you into looper mode at any time. The onboard switches allow you to record up to 60 seconds of mono audio, and the process is simple and straight forward. You can create expressive loops with any of the DD-200’s rich delay sounds because the looper engine runs independently.back to menu ↑
DD-200 Digital Delay – Dial in Sounds Fast
The DD-200 makes it simple to create stunning sounds in the middle of a crisis because of its no-nonsense design. Dedicated controls for direct, hands-on access include essential delay parameters. And, when you switch to a different mode, the PARAM knob’s purpose shifts to customized settings for the selected kind, allowing for more precise control without having to dive into menus.
Basic functions like bypass, memory scroll, tap tempo, and looper control are accessible by default on the DD-200’s multi-function footswitches. Nonetheless, you may easily reassign them to do anything from hold to warp. MIDI I/O is also available on space-saving mini TRS jacks, and external control via footswitches or an expression pedal is also possible. You may control a broad range of operations from MIDI devices like the ES-8 and ES-5 effects switchers, and link multiple 200 series pedals at the same time using MIDI.back to menu ↑

This is an absolutely killer digital delay, a must have for anyone who wants to get lots of different delay sounds in a compact box. I had the Boss DD-7 before this, as well as briefly owning a Boss DD-20, and this blows them out of the water. The sounds are great, and the 6 knobs allow for huge tone shaping. Due to the inputs being on the back, this only takes up the same amount of space on my board as the DD-7 did. Fantastic pedal, would highly recommend.
This device provides solutions regarding pedalboard space as well as sounding great! Having the choice of so many delay types with functionality is only one of the features. The quality is outstanding as well as the ability to “self oscillate” is unheard of in a digital delay. And even though the pedal may be wider than a standard box, it takes up the same space as one with side jacks. Brilliant! Editing is not as deep as the 500 however what it does have is very intuitive and allows for dialing in the desired effect quickly. So much so that I have to have all of the others in the 200 series. Great job, Boss!
