The custom division of renowned guitar company “Fender” teams up with “Lexus” to create a very special guitar. Some things fit together by definition. Gin and tonic. Whiskey and snobbery. Likewise, some brands seem to be just screaming about corporate compatibility. For example, Lego and Ikea. Or GoPro and Red Bull.
“Stratocaster” – the most famous guitar in the world and totem for many Americans co-branded with “Lexus”, a Japanese car brand. The new guitar was named “Lexus LC Stratocaster Blue”. The main feature of the guitar is its unique color. “It took scientists 15 years to reproduce the Morpho butterfly in a paint worthy of the automobile industry,” – such description could be found in several official press releases.
In addition to the unique unrepeatable color, the guitar has a number of references to “Lexus” cars. First of all, the stylish black pickguard on the front of the guitar catches your eye. It is made of “Richlite” material and is a mixture of epoxy resin and recycled paper commonly used in commercial environments due to its strength. It is stronger than wood and impervious to moisture. This material is actively used in the interior of many cars. In addition, the volume and tone controls on the front of the guitar replicate the “Mark Levinson” stereo controls used extensively in “Lexus” vehicles. The “Lexus LC Stratocaster” is a limited edition of 100 pieces priced at £ 4,400 per guitar.
