Frontman of the American rock band “Van Halen” David Lee Roth has announced his retirement from his musical career. “I’m retiring,” he said. The musician noted that this is the first and only comment on this topic. On October 10, the famous guitarist will turn 67 years old.

Roth said he will put an end to the “Van Halen era” and his solo career by playing the last five concerts on New Year’s Eve.

On October 6, 2020 co-founder of the group Eddie Van Halen passed away. He passed away at the age of 65 after a long and difficult battle with cancer. The musician has been trying to recover from throat cancer for 20 years. In September 2020, another Van Halen member, guitarist Mark Stone, died of cancer.

David Lee Roth got into the band as a teenager. He rented out musical equipment to”Van Halen”, and then the musicians drew attention to him, inviting him to the band as a frontman. They released their debut album “Van Halen” in 1978 and attracted national attention. In 2014, the album achieved diamond status.

Despite the success, Roth left the band in August 1985 and took up solo work. But in 2006 he joined “Van Halen” on the most successful and grossing North American concert tour in the band’s history. In 2007, the musician finally returned to the team.
